New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jackson delivers her most harrowing novel yet as a young woman's determined hunt for a serial killer draws her into a twisted psychopath's unspeakable crimes. Twenty-seven-year-old Kristi Bentz is lucky to be alive. Not many people her age have nearly died twice at the hands of a serial killer, and lived to tell about it. Her dad, New Orleans detective, Rick Bentz, wants Kristi to stay in New Orleans and out of danger. But if anything, Kristi's experiences have made her even more fascinated by the mind of the serial killer. She hasn't given up her dream of being a true-crime writer--of exploring the darkest recesses of evil--and now she just may get her chance.

Commentary Epithetical Books Lost Souls (New Orleans #5)
I gave one of Lisa Jackson's books a terrible review last year, and apparently had a mental blank on the name when I picked this up at the library. Truly dreadful thriller, featuring a villian who bathes herself in blood to keep herself young. A villian who thinks at one point something like this, "Academically speaking, I know that bathing in blood can't keep me young - but, oh well." How is that a believable character? Our hero and heroine, who endure a cringeworthy love story together, sum it

All in all a good read. To me it would be worth a 3.5 rating but kristi stubbornness was a bit irritating to me so a 3 would be spot on for me. I did have my suspicions as to who was involved in the sick crimes but i was way off on the real psychos

Near middle of book. Main character Kristi is a whiny tstl, so far. She has nearly been killed by crazies in two prior books. She is a killer-magnet. But, when she discovers she is living in the same apartment as the victim of a new serial killer, does Kristi move? No. Why do the young women in these books always think they know better than law enforcement (and her father is a cop). Her former boyfriend/cop/professor is not much brighter. He has sex with a student who is currently enrolled in

Kristi Benz has gone back to school at All- Saints College in Louisiana, her dream is to be a journalist and suspenseful stories captivate her emotionally. Shes been on the wrong side of evils hand in the past and is very wary of strange happenings. Being a police officers daughter shes seen and heard some of the worse situations known to exist. When girls begin to disappear around campus, she starts believing that something more sinister is the cause. A cult maybe, but the biggest scare is all

when i looked up this book, i saw that it had a lot of negative reviews. I honestly didnt have a problem with the book. i thought it had good dialog, good settings. not a bad ending. since i dont know anything about the author or what shes written, i am assuming there is another book after this one? i dont know. but i only had one problem with it. the main character in the book, kristi, was beyond stubbornedly stupid. it kind of urked me. .but i guess thats what made the book i guess. . of

I love a good mystery, and I enjoyed the book. I do think the ending went a little too fast, but I liked how all the characters were brought to life in detail. It was suspenseful and a good thriller leaving me goosebumps throughout the story. One of the best thrillers I read in 2012. I will be reading it again soon.

In spite her being a multiple NY bestselling author, this is the first time Ive read her work that I know of. The library has multiple books by her and after this, I will not be racing to get them. It starts out interesting enough. Kristi Bentz is going back to school to be a crime writer. Her dad is New Orleans Super Cop. Kristi ignores his concerns about All Souls College where four women have gone missing. When she gets there, as an English major, taking one forensic class being taught by Jay
