I had recently read the Scientists in the Field book, Sea Turtle Scientist, when I saw Alyson Beecher's review of this book. While the SitF book is lengthy and full of information scientists know about sea turtles, particularly about their habits on land and egg-laying, this book is more younger reader friendly. It also concentrates on what sea turtles do away from land. This particular book focuses on "Kiki" and her life in the ocean reef. There are even some pages that focus on other animalsWonderful book to introduce the underwater world, diving and why and how we should keep our oceans clean to young children.
An elementary overview of the life of a sea turtle.
This is a really enjoyable story about a sea turtle who encounters other sea creatures in its journey away from and back to it's place of birth.

This book looks at a narrative story of a sea turtle from hatchling to when she eventually lays her own eggs. Readers get a sense of a sea turtle's life in the ocean. Additionally, there are facts in a different font on the lower right hand corners. The end notes and resources provide additional facts, vocabulary and information.
