Explanation To Books How to Be Lovely: The Audrey Hepburn Way of Life
A rare glimpse into the woman behind the mystique and the definitive guide to living genuinely with glamour and grace."Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book and remembering--because you can't take it all in at once."--Audrey Hepburn
On many occasions, Audrey Hepburn was approached to pen her autobiography, the definitive book of Audrey, yet she never agreed. A beloved icon who found success as an actress, a mother, and a humanitarian, Audrey Hepburn perfected the art of gracious living.
More philosophy than biography, How to Be Lovely revisits the many interviews Audrey gave over the years, allowing us to hear her voice directly on universal topics of concern to women the world over: careers, love lives, motherhood and relationships. Enhanced by rarely seen photographs, behind-the-scenes stories, and insights from the friends who knew her well, How to Be Lovely uncovers the real Audrey, in her own words.

This was my kind of biography, a wee gem of a book. It gave enough of a picture of Audreys life and her views without getting bogged down in the minutiae so typical of celebrity bios. I bought it partly because of the title, and partly because of the photography, which is fabulous. It really evokes, as she says herself, a time when movies were pleasant, when women wore pretty dresses in films and you heard beautiful music. Also, I guess I was curious to learn a little more about her. Hardly aA lovely person, a lovely life.Anyone who admired Audrey Hepburn as an actress will enjoy getting to know her as a human being. Audrey didn't live a charmed life but she did live a full life. She gave back to the world through the children and her work with UNICEF. I thoroughly enjoyed this look at her life in words and photographs.
This book is such a little treasure! I thoroughly enjoyed reading Audrey's quotes, and the quotes about her. The author obviously did her research. I felt like I got an inside glance into Audrey Hepburn. The photos were also stunning. They fit each chapter's topics nicely. I found this book at Goodwill for only $1.00. What a well spent dollar! Thank you Melissa Hellstern! I would love to see you author more books like this one on other celebrities!

I've always loved Audrey Hepburn, I've got a poster of her in my room and several of her movies. This book made me appreciate her that much more. It took me through her life, and her take on things. It was fan-freaking-tastic.Audrey Hepburn has always been one of my idols, and this book just solidifies that in a way I didn't think of before.
When the pressure of a book deadline pushes my nerves to the breaking point I do what many writers do: I shop at AbeBooks.com and Amazon for used how-to books on crafts I'm never going to learn, fantasizing about all the time I'm going to have post-deadline to work the other side of my brain and attempting through it all to make constructive plans for the sense of disorientation that tends to follow the completion of a long, intense writing project. While gazing at postal art books this time
5 stars!Audrey Hepburn was so radiant and inspirational, she was beautiful inside and out, the epitome of elegance and kindness. This wonderful book contains many quotes by Audrey on the things she considered important, further quotes about Audrey, and of course photos. Its not a very detailed biography, but a very enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed learning more about Audrey. I love quotes, and this book is filled with them along with some great pictures I've never seen of her. What a truly lovely woman! She loved to read, go for long walks, loved to listen to music, I feel we would have been good friends! 😁 a simple person, who loved to give to others! The following quote hit me hard as I feel like it's more true today than ever before. We are more lonely, more overworked and more stressed out than ever before. We have
