This Ann Rule collection of cases is well written and presented. If you read true crime, Ann Rule is at the top of the list, and this book will not disappoint.A collection of true crime stories that she has researched over the past years, about 5 cases that were very interesting to her.
Ann Rule always writes good true crime stories.
I enjoyed this as an audio book. It is a well told true crime story, but I wouldnt call it great. Maybe a 3.5, but Im sure Ill listen to more of Ann Rules works in the future.
You know, I feel really guilty about saying this but I don't feel bad for the victim in the first case of this book. Not the man, but the woman. I think I could've possibly tried to understand or relate to the victim if it hadn't involved her eldest daughter in that way.Here you have a man who is not only cheating on his wife, but also kills his lover's husband when she refused to leave him. This is a collection of short true-crime stories + one longer 200 page story. All are about people who were worth more dead to spouses or family members, as the title suggests. The longer story is one crazy, convoluted story that I would never have believed if it had been anyone but Ann Rule. She truly found some crazy stories for this book. I think I prefer the longer stories the best though.
Ms. Rule does an excellent job of telling true crime stories in a way that is detailed, but not glorifying the events.
