Ilustration In Pursuance Of Books The Book of the Sword (Samurai Girl #1)
When I was six months old, I dropped from the sky -- the lone survivor of a deadly Japanese plane crash. The newspapers called me Heaven. I was adopted by a wealthy family in Tokyo, pampered, and protected. For nineteen years, I thought I was lucky.
I'm learning how wrong I was.
They say your life begins on your wedding day.
Here's what happened on mine: I lost the person I love most. I learned that everything I knew about my family was a lie. Now I'm being hunted. I must fight back, or die.
My life ended that day. The old Heaven is gone. I AM SAMURAI GIRL.

Heaven was the sole survivor of a horrific plane crash when she was an infant. One of the richest families in the country, the Kogos, adopted her, and she's been a dutiful daughter ever since. However, when her adoptive father tries to marry her off to a rival family's playboy son, her entire life changes. Luckily, I discovered that the TV series was based on the book which I was able to get through my library.Disappointment pretty much covers what I felt about this book. I'm sure if I was in Heaven's place where my wedding ceremony is interrupted by an assassin, I too would be

I have been interested in Japanese culture my entire life. This interest inspired me to purchase this book years ago after it had first been published and the rest of the books in the series hadn't come out yet. I didn't keep track of when books were published back then, so I only reread this book recently as I was cleaning off my bookshelves.I like the style this book was written in - the newspaper articles and interludes of the thoughts from a character's perspective that break up the main
3/20/09Apparently ABC Family has created a show with the same title and plot-lines as this book series. Both seem really intersting and I can't wait to get into it!Updated 3/31/09:This book arrived at our library Saturday (3/28) and I dove into it and finished it right away! It was awesome! Each chapter kept you hanging on and wanting more. So many questions are left unanswered and I can't wait for the next book to arrive! (Inter-library loan) One small warning for younger audiances is the
