This tale reminds me of Robert Jordan's, WHEEL OF TIME series. Especially the troupe of characters whose journey we get to witness. It has that high fantasy, epic feel, yet it also has a number of original twists and turns along the way. The 3rd person omniscient is usually a tough one for me. This review can also be found hereI'm generally not a huge fan of fantasy but I really want to try to read more of the genre. I was definitely surprised by the amount of enjoyment I had reading this book. I ended up getting absorbed in the story and rooting for the characters to pull through. Really enjoyed reading it. It was one of those stories that made you want to keep reading to see how it unfolded. There were times in the story where you really felt the emotion in what was happening. I'm looking forward to book two.
A high fantasy of epic proportions. The Exile is well-written and engaging, focusing on the journey of four young men. Interestingly, each character's point of view is shared, letting the reader soak up even more detail. The world building is well done and vast. Though I enjoyed the book, I feel that it is perfect for the 14 year old boy.
Book Review:By: Brittany Perez (@Oh My Bookness)Date: June 6, 2014 Who does not enjoy an original tale, especially one in the pre-teen to YA genre, it feels hard to find anymore because it almost feels you have read it before or seen it somewhere else. Eric Buffington has managed to create an original tale that is refreshing, woven through multiple points of views and fans of fantasy will more than enjoy and those just starting to get into the genre. The author took a unique approach that I
