Ann Rule did a great job in defining the Hearn and Corbin cases. Very sad cases but it was a good ending as can be expected that Dr Corbin was convicted for both murders. It must have been devestating for the Hearn family to have gone over 15 years with their daughter's death being labeled as a suicide. What an intense story and crazy that someone can get away with something like that for that long. I haven't read many true crime written like this but I must say I really actually enjoy it and want to look for more like it.Good Read!

Ann Rule knew how to tell a story and she did it again with Too Late To Say Goodbye. Bart Corbin was in my fifth grade class & in my graduating class. He lived in the subdivision behind mine. I never knew and that's a scary thought. Corbin is supposedly a smart guy becoming a dentist. Why was he so stupid? Rule starts from the beginning and details the complete investigation by determined county detectives and tough as nails District Attorney. They were determined not only to solve the murder of Jenn Corbin but of the supposed suicide of beautiful dental student Dolly Hearn

True crime books really aren't my thing. I read this because, well, the paperback was given to me by a friend so it didn't cost anything, and as a lawyer who practices in the area in which the book took place I know some of the cast of characters and I was curious how they would be portrayed.This was not a bad book at all: people who like this sort of thing will probably like it very much. It was well researched, well organized, and told the story in a coherent way. The writing was serviceable.
