Commentary During Books Bone Music (Burning Girl #1)

There’s more than one way to stoke the flames of revenge…

Charlotte Rowe spent the first seven years of her life in the hands of the only parents she knew—a pair of serial killers who murdered her mother and tried to shape Charlotte in their own twisted image. If only the nightmare had ended when she was rescued. Instead, her real father exploited her tabloid-ready story for fame and profit—until Charlotte finally broke free from her ghoulish past and fled. Just when she thinks she has buried her personal hell forever, Charlotte is swept into a frightening new ordeal. Secretly dosed with an experimental drug, she’s endowed with a shocking new power—but pursued by a treacherous corporation desperate to control her.

Except from now on, if anybody is going to control Charlotte, it’s going to be Charlotte herself. She’s determined to use the extraordinary ability she now possesses to fight the kind of evil that shattered her life—by drawing a serial killer out from the shadows to face the righteous fury of a victim turned avenger.

I didnt do too well with this one. Interesting premise, and good writing, but it just didnt do anything for me!

"They didn't plan to kill my mother. She wasn't like the other women, the ones they stalked and captured. The ones who came to in a cold root cellar miles from where they'd been abducted, hog-tied and disoriented, their faces pressed to the dirt floor."What an opening, right? After a long and fruitless reading slump, I was beginning to think that maybe my love of thrillers had dissipated. The domestic, trendy, psychological thrillers just haven't been doing it for me lately; I was in desperate

Im so thankful to Little Bird Publicity, Thomas & Mercer, and Amazon Publishing for providing my free copy of BONE MUSIC by Christopher Rice - all opinions are my own.All she feels is the bone music and the sense that she has become not darkness but a great fire, bringing a sudden, blazing end to it. This book literally grabbed my attention from the very first sentence and just kept hold of me the entire time I was reading it! Its one outstanding thriller and Rice is one hell of a writer!

Buddy read (well, sort of) with Tweedledee ┈ ┈ ┈ ⋞ ⏣ ⋟ ┈ ┈ ┈If I could I would give this -5 stars but alas, lets go for 1 star.*looks up string of angry GIFs*Also...the mood of the whole BR:Hayl: FUCK THIS. Me this entire book:Hi, my name is Hayley and Im obsessed with murder, especially serial killers. I listen to a murder podcast while I eat breakfast. Its my thing. I also love super powers. SO yay for a book that combines the two!Except this book SUCKED! My god, it took me almost a month to finish this. I seriously dreaded listening to it every morning, it was so bad. One day my roommate walked in and asked why I was listening to a telephone operator. So, yeah, in case you are wondering the

I suspected Christopher Rice was a successful author riding on his mother's (Anne Rice) coattails, but this turned out to be a first rate thriller, and I apologize to him for my unworthy expectations!

"They didn't plan to kill my mother."First line, first page. Instantly hooked. Serial killers who can't bring themselves to kill a baby and raise her as their own. Until they're caught seven years later and she's returned to her birth father... who exploits her story for fame and money. So she changes her name, finds a new place to live off the grid... trying desperately to put this all behind her. But someone just won't let her!I absolutely fell in love with this book.
