You know those books that you've had sitting on your shelf for years and years, telling yourself one day you'll read them to the point where your 'TBR' classification is a joke? And then one day you finally>/i> read them and it's like... oh, that was actually pretty enjoyable. Should have read that sooner. What a pleasant read.

This is one of those books. I got this as an ARC from my uncle years ago, it's one of those mid-noughties books (glitter jeans are mentioned) that kind of tanked. I can see why because the blurb sounds highly unoriginal but this is actually a cute, entertaining, loveable read.

Hollywood Bliss Winterman is just a your average thirteen years old. Except her mom is mega superstar Kandhi. When Kandhi pulls Hollywood out of school in order to play a bigger role in her life, celebrity drama, high kinks and mother-daughter bonding follow.

This book made me chuckle. Simple as. From maintaining dignity at all time in a bathrobe and pink fuzzy slippers to having your Russian great-grandmother fatten your pet rabbit Thumper up with sesame seed dumplings to bribing your 7-foot-tall bodyguard with blue jelly beans it's all in good humour.

Hollywood is a personable and likeable main character who alternates between mooning after her fit teacher and trying to understand her mother's insecurity.

I would criticise this book for an unclear, rambling plotline and the unbelievable nature of Hollywood and Kandhi's relationship.

It's a light read that I liked but don't expect anything more.

This is a middle grade book about a girl who gets taken from her school unexpectedly by her superstar mom and has her entire life changed.Part of me enjoyed this book and part of me had some negative feelings towards it. I dont want to get too spoilery so i wont talk much about the plot. I didnt like Kandhi at all. I thought she was controlling and a terrible mother all the way until the end. That being said, Im sure she was exaggerated to make a point.This is a good book for young teens to read

Regardless of her name, Hollywood Bliss is a humble character. Pretty down to earth and well adjusted. Considering how her mom treated her, if I were Holly, I would throw a temper tantrum. It doesn't mean she's not hurt by her mom though. She really tried to please her mom and accept the fact of her mother's fame. Still even Holly had her limit. Nice easy reading with a great concept

This isn't the kind of book I usually read .. It wasn't that great nor too bad .. I expected a bit more romance but the book turned out to be childish
