What little girl doesn't love a story about a girl and her horse? I mean, it's primal, isn't it? The thing that makes this book so special is that it's not dumbed down, it's not anything but what it is... it's a story about a girl and her horse. Of course, the fact that it's set on the fabulous moody hills and beaches of Scotland in a creaky, old atmospheric farmhouse sure doesn't hurt.
