Relation During Books Love★Com, Vol. 2 (Lovely★Complex #2)
Volume 2, and the romantic misunderstandings continue. An ex-girlfriend of Ôtani's shows up and she is a cute little thing that looks just like Chiharu. Maybe Ôtani does have a type after all. Risa convinces herself that the ex has shown up because she wants to get back together with Ôtani and does all she can to help that happen.Meanwhile, a really tall and really handsome guy catches Risa up in a bear hug. It is Haruka, an old friend from grade school. Back then he was the target of bullies and Risa defended him, so he's got a crush on her. Nice as he is to Risa, though, he is a real jerk to Ôtani. As Risa continues to defend Ôtani to Haruka, he asks her the same question everyone else is thinking--is she in love with Ôtani? Is Ôtani in love with Risa?

Risa's getting really confused about her feelings for Ôtani--she doesn't know if she wants to help him get back together with his ex-girlfriend or keep him all to herself! This volume was an enjoyable read, as this volume reminds me of back then. I look forward to the next volume. SPOILERS:WARNING:Otani invites Risa to their favorite rapper's concert, which means they'll be spending Christmas together.Otani's ex girlfriend shows up(Kanzaki).Otani opens up a little on his ex girlfriend. TheyThis next volume was just as enjoyable as the first. These two are just too stubborn & won't see what's right in front of them. I did find the storyline with Otani's ex-girlfriend a little drawn out. I also don't like Haruka, he's just too much & a complete jerk to Otani. Also, Otani was a jerk for (view spoiler)[not accepting Risa's Valentine. I mean, he did tell her he wanted one, then she goes through all the trouble to make it, and he just says "no thanks". I mean, really? (hide
Overall Rating: ASummary: Also known as Lovely Complex, this shōjo romantic comedy is created by Aya Nakahara, and follows Risa, a tall girl, and Ōtani, a short boy. The pair are in high school together, and because of their height differences they are called the "All Hanshin Kyojin" (which is apparently a popular Japanese comedy duo with a similar height diference). The story starts with the two constantly at each other's throats (a sure sign they will be involved in a romance plot), and to

In this second volume of the manga about the tall girl and the short boy trying to find love (and NOT with each other, gosh darnit!), Risa and Ōtani wonder about each other's romantic past and try--sort of sulkily--to get out of each other's way for another possible love interest. But they still uphold promises to each other, which are after all commitments even if they're NOT dating, and hey, they did have tickets to the concert, even if it's Christmas and you're supposed to spend that day with
It is getting better I think. Otani is a cutey boy, I like his personality, kind of serious and stern, and actually really nice. The same with Risa... I like that she is never embarrassed to say or do things, she feels so comfortable around Otani that she is always herself. And I also like the couple who are their friends (I do not remember their names) who are trying to get them together. That scene were Otani was kind of depressed at the coffee shop and the two of them 'reading' his feeling
So the "they only act like they don't like each other because they are uncomfortable admitting they like each-other" plot continues. Nakahara ups the tension a bit by first introducing an old girlfriend of Otani and then an old schoolmate of Risa's with a huge crush on her, which was honestly a real relief because oh my goodness is the gender policing and pressure to conform strong with this one. At least once her old schoolmate shows up we get to hear at least one person appreciate Risa for who
Who doesn't love a bit of misunderstanding in a developing romance? This one was a great take on the ups and downs relations go through.
