Silk and steel is another fantastic historical romance by Kat Martin. Lady Kathryn is the victim of her greedy uncle who decides to steal her fortune by committing her to an insane asylum so when she escapes and ends up in the carriage of Lucien Montaine, Marquess of Litchfeild, she begs him to help her and saves her from her greedy guardian. This is an amazing historical romance with lots of twists and turns, passions, dangers and emotions.Thank you Kat MartinThe premise of the book involving Kat escaping from an institution and finding refuge with Lucien was the only reason I picked up the book and I found that interesting and decently played out. However, there were several little plots and characters that were not fleshed out so that when they were resolved it almost felt like going down a checklist to get to the end of the story. They probably could have been omitted so more space could be given to Kat and Lucien's developing relationship during
Opening a hole in the suffocating boy`s throat was almost identical with another book. Couldn't check which book was written first since I couldn't remember the name that book.

One of my favorites by this author. I like how Kathryn is strong enough to face censure from everyone when they find out about her studies into healing. The horrors of the madhouse portrayed are frightening.
The first 85% of this book was fantastic. I cannot forgive the ending. Truly. So be forewarned, Spoilers ahead. This sequel follows Lucien Montaine, a cynical lord who for some reason, seeing how happy his friend Jason is (but remembering how much pain he endured) has decided that love is not for him. So he's engaged to a useless twit of a woman. Along comes Kathryn Grayson, who has been committed by her uncle to control her fortune and will stop at nothing to keep it. So Lucien sets out to
Love finding a new author, at least new to me. I do live by the quote "so many books, so little time." Just a lovely story of strength and love overcoming obstacles. Will now have to find "Nothing But Velvet" by the same author.
I do really love it
